I think one eissue that is bugging you is that her hind quarters are a little "beefy" as you would say and her rib cage does not match that. But great work and I can't wait to see the finished product! No Stone Unturnedhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10605775403216818934noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9219172357529507210.post-73610384425431377302011-12-09T14:32:07.335-08:002011-12-09T14:32:07.335-08:00Thanks for your insights Bridget. The first one is all thoroughbred looking to me. Hopefully I will end up with something between those two.Xebechehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04018198670178360250noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9219172357529507210.post-9220859812105373532011-12-09T14:25:05.498-08:002011-12-09T14:25:05.498-08:00I guess her back looks a tad long and she is a bit...I guess her back looks a tad long and she is a bit wasp waisted, however there are a lot of mares that can be very thin and narrow in that area. For instance, here's Royal Delta (only days after she won the BC Ladies' Classic):

http://finalturngallery.com/g2/main.php/v/mariasmonsalbum/Keenelandsales/keenov11/RD+_2_.jpg.html

Awesome Feather last year after she won the Juvy Fillies:

http://finalturngallery.com/g2/main.php/v/mariasmonsalbum/FasigTiptonSales/nov10/10+awesome+feather095+_2_.jpg.html

So perhaps not as narrow as your sculpture, but not as hulking as Zenyatta. I guess it depends on what type you're going for.Bridgetnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9219172357529507210.post-20947417094070635372011-12-09T12:13:11.486-08:002011-12-09T12:13:11.486-08:00I see that the link didn't go through the firs...I see that the link didn't go through the first time, so trying again:
http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_RVLfSMIB7K0/
TP06L9aLm1I/AAAAAAAAmmA/
QA5CzBLlULY/s1600/
zenyatta726a_ps.jpgAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9219172357529507210.post-70451215280324221492011-12-09T12:10:34.234-08:002011-12-09T12:10:34.234-08:00Here's the best side shot of Zenyatta I could ...Here's the best side shot of Zenyatta I could find...

http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_RVLfSMIB7K0/TP06L9aLm1I/AAAAAAAAmmA/QA5CzBLlULY/s1600/zenyatta726a_ps.jpg

Hope the link comes through.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9219172357529507210.post-32526970555888353052011-12-09T10:01:41.664-08:002011-12-09T10:01:41.664-08:00Thanks a ton! It's funny, but I have gotten several comments that her waist needs to be smaller still...so as a filly does she need a bit more thickness there to support future foal making? Pics/links to pics are ALWAYS a great thing :)Very helpful comments here, thanks for taking the time to post them to my blog :)Xebechehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04018198670178360250noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9219172357529507210.post-12528396955947553212011-12-09T05:45:33.437-08:002011-12-09T05:45:33.437-08:00She is looking lovely. It may be the lighting, but it looks like her rib cage has gotten smaller through the process. I would like to see well sprung ribs on this girl with a little more depth throughout the underline. I think you are capturing the feminine look well!Danielle Feldmanhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02444858411330152767noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9219172357529507210.post-44247165607253194842011-12-09T04:03:07.664-08:002011-12-09T04:03:07.664-08:00I agree with the previous post but have more conce...I agree with the previous post but have more concerns with her back and loin area ....She's way too narrow in the flank...
I raced, bred and trained TBs for many years as did my friend [who's not a model person]and we both felt the same...not a filly we would buy
I love your sculptures and own several but this one's not there yet....wish I could be more help....I have tons of photos, LMK if I CAN helpprmoonhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07136599661312565524noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9219172357529507210.post-45483811686278948012011-12-09T03:33:29.897-08:002011-12-09T03:33:29.897-08:00It almost looks like her head and neck are a sligh...It almost looks like her head and neck are a slightly smaller scale from the rest of her body - like the head and neck belong to a different horse. But I'm not sure if that is true or the fact that it looks that way is caused by the camera angle. Her back is a hair longer than I like to see, but not necessarily incorrect. Just my thoughts! Very interesting to see the transformations she has gone through.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
